Alright rockhounds, get ready to RUMBLE!
Back for the 6th awesome year, we’re turning up the excitement at the Tears of Wenedi mine!
Gather your best pals, dust off those power tools, and prepare for a thrilling showdown to see who can unearth the most spectacular specimen!
As a reminder only registered team members are invited to bring electric jackhammers, mighty hammer drills, and generators up to a 7500 watts.
Come try your luck with your hardest working friends! We will be sectioning up the wall our Tears of Wenedi mine into 8 different “spots”. Eight teams are welcome to bring in their tools and see who can find the best specimen. For this competition only – electric jackhammers, hammer drills, and up to 7500 generators ARE permitted!
Rules & Regulations:
- Team spots picked by lottery by team captain.
- Up to 7500 watt generators permitted
- No Hydraulics
- No Air Tools
- No Saws
- No Gas Powered Hammers
- Team fee includes one water/electric (15 AMP) campsite for Friday and Saturday nights.
- Any contesting of border lines and specimens found near them are to be figured out between teams; a $50 fee applies if a staff member has to call it
- No one mining in your “spot” other than team members
- Mining Hours for event are Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 6:59 p.m. (Sunset) and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., awards immediately following • Each team is to submit their choice for Nicest Specimen for judging; each team member will vote for nicest specimen and are not allowed to vote on their own
Prizes:
- Nicest Specimen – Each team receives a free weekend cabin stay for four and team members get a Crystal Grove t-shirt.
- Most Quartz Weight – Each winner to receive a $50 gift certificate to Crystal Grove Diamond Mine & Campground
- Most Rock Moved – Each winner receives a Crystal Grove t-shirt and hat.
